We are going through (another!) period of strong growth here at Baringa and we are looking to fill a number of positions over the coming weeks and months. Excellent event yesterday hosted by Kapital Events.Some key messages from my speech:- The EU is increasingly pursuing a policy of "strategic autonomy"and it is using State Aid and industrial policy to achieve that goal- At the same time, the EU is facing the double challenge of improving competitiveness and achieving faster decarbonisation- On the competitiveness front, we have seen a significant decline in natural gas prices in recent months which will help European businesses and households however volatility is here to stay in the European natural gas market, at least for the next 3 years- On the decarbonisation front, we have a massive investment challenge in our hands to meet the Net Zero target by 2050, and the data from last year suggests that there has been a slowdown in fundraising and M&A activity in the sector at a time when we need them to accelerate.
