Selected to the American League All-Star Team for the first time in his career. Won his first career Silver Slugger Award. Named Tiger of the Year by the Detroit chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Was one of three finalists for the American League Gold Glove as an outfielder after finishing the season with a .993 fielding percentage (282TC/2E).
