  She is a good professor! I took her course on Spring 2023! She offered lecture materials and readings enough to perform well in our exams. Additionally, we had writing assignments, which was doable. Although, one writing assignment was tough, but she helped us understand what our tasks were. Her class is worth taking and very interesting!

  Does not give clear instructions and most of the class fails assignments because of this. If several students are having issues, it is a larger problem. She is a tough grader and gives little to no feedback. I am normally an A student, but I am struggling in this class. Be careful, and take a different sociology professor if you can.

  Class itself wasn't all that interesting to me but she made the most of what she could. She's clearly very well-versed in the subject and was always able to answer most questions. Just review the slides and you'll do good on the exams, the only other grades are a few quizzes and two writing assignments which were extremely simple.

  Professor Potts is overall a good professor. Attendance wasn't mandatory. Pretty much the entire class is chapter quizzes, but you can work ahead and they're pretty easy if you read the textbook. You can finish this class in a few weeks if you really try. 2 essays, not difficult at all and she was pretty easy on the grading.

  I enjoy the fact that attendance was not mandatory. All of her assignments were pretty easy if you read the book and pay attention. She is patient when you have questions and I enjoyed her lectures. Her tests are a bit difficult, but it's open notes and book. You would have to try hard to fail this class.

  Took this class for my major, ended up having to drop this course. Tests are extremely difficult and answers are paraphrased and there are multiple right answers, but you need the one that comes from the readings. Emailed her about the information being hard to follow, her response was "You have everything you need to pass." Do not take this prof.

  Took this class because it was included in my major and I needed it. Ended up having to drop. All of the lectures are paraphrased and all the answers on the tests paraphrase the paraphrased lecture notes from the modules. Tests are extremely difficult even if you take notes and are worth 100 points. I would advise you find a different professor!

  She told us on the 1st day that attendance wasn't mandatory due to her own personal conditions. The quizzes/tests seemed pretty easy to get through with quizzes and the powerpoints. Some of her assignments did sneak up on me, but I don't blame her for that. You get a slew of quizzes toward the end of the semester which sucks too

  I loved Ms.Potts! She was super funny and I enjoyed going to her class. Attendance is not mandatory and the quizzes and tests weren't too difficult. I recommend her if you need a social behavioral science credit!!

  Helen Pott's ratings here are split between multiple classes, so some discretion is advised. She gave us access to all of the presentations and quizzes from the start of the semester. You can complete the entire class within the first week if you feel like it, but you'd be missing out on some of the most enjoyable classes you can have at UNT.

  Dr. Potts has very few assignments. One is a lengthy paper but you have 2 months to complete it. I don't recommend waiting until the last minute on that. All test and quizzes are open book so that's a plus. I highly recommend Potts for SOCI 4340.

  I took her class before and I see my old review down below about how easy her course was. My course this semester was anything but easy (like the previous one). All her quizzes and exams were difficult which are most of the grade. She is ok - I ended the course with a C which I am content with but I am typically a straight A student. Good luck!

  I'm a CJ major with a minor Social Science, so sociology is a major part of my studies. Potts is a wonderful professor. For an upper-level online course, she provides many opportunities to learn and ask questions. Yes, you will have to read a lot but that's sociology and college in general. I have multiple more of her classes planned.

  The class consists of quizzes, 4 exams and 2-3 papers. This class is extremely difficult. It is so hard to find the answers in the book. The book is so boring. Ive taken her other classes before and it was easy, but this class is very difficult. Im not even sure that I will pass this class.

  Finding a "real" online course for online students has become a difficult task for truly online learners. This class was a breath of fresh air. Lots of reading and plenty of assignments, but you work on it at your own pace. There are three due dates throughout the semester, but don't fall behind. My favorite course this semester.
