The song details a guy who is concerned after his romantic partner begins searching for a drag queen. The person finds one to hook up with after sitting there and ignoring the advances from the main guy.

The song is based on the movie of the same name, which was a French movie that Jean-Jacques Annaud directed. The film is about a caveman who is looking for a fire, and it’s more art than anything since there is hardly any dialogue happening. Interestingly, it is rated as one of the worst Iron Maiden songs, so if you haven’t heard it, we wouldn’t be surprised.

11. Quicksand – David Bowie

Attention all fans of the movie Moonage Daydream, you might remember the song Quicksand by David Bowie. The track was released in 1971 on his album Hunky Dory, and it’s a song that is similar lyrically to other tracks that he was writing at this time in his life. It features both an element of surrealism and some narration and talks about the Golden Dawn, which was a magic society, and there are a lot of Buddhist influences in the song too.

12. Quiet Light – The National

In 2019, The National released Quiet Light on the album I Am Easy To Find, and this song is all about moving on after a breakup and coming to terms with the end of the relationship. In the track, there is a lot of reflection on the changes that have happened since the breakup, including how empty and exhausted they feel and the sadness that comes with the breakup. It goes into the feelings of still loving that person even though the relationship is now over and the person wondering if the ex feels the same way.

What’s interesting is that this song started as a demo before Shirley Manson, the lead singer, even joined the band, and once she joined, she decided to rewrite the lyrics to be less sexual in nature. It is one of their most well-known tracks and is also featured in the television show Good Trouble.

Next is Bruce Springsteen, better known as The Boss, with his song Queen Of The Supermarket, which was released in 2009 on the album Working On A Dream. The track is all about a guy who has fallen in love with a girl that works at his local supermarket.

He calls this checkout lady the queen of the supermarket, and he talks about how no one else notices how unique she is and they are oblivious. Springsteen was at a market, and that’s how he was inspired by the song because he said the supermarket looked like something you’d see in a fantasy novel, which then led him to think about the sexual aspect of the supermarket.

Gregg Allman released Laid Back in 1973, and the song Queen Of Hearts is on this album, which he wrote for his second wife, although they would later divorce in 1975. This song is a warning to Jane and how she’s about to experience a fall from the top because she lives in a superficial world where people are meaningless and everything including her attitude is not authentic.

There is another part of Queen Jane Approximately where he tells her that if she wants honesty and authenticity that she should go see him and how he can help her pick up the pieces of her fake life.

Rock band System Of A Down released the song Question! in 2005 on the album Mezmerize. This track is all about what people might face when they are dying, and it talks about ghosts, including asking whether the ghosts are just like people. The questions are repetitive in the song to make you think more about death. The track reached number two on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, seven on the Mainstream Rock chart, and nine on the Alternative Airplay chart.
