Ring of Elden features many weapon classes and builds for players to choose from. Players can really customize their fighters to use whatever they want in combat situations. Those who like to primarily use melee combat will want to maximize the damage potential of their weapons, for an easier time in the Lands Between.

Ring of Elden features skill trees from which the player can purchase skills using runes, the game's main currency. However, not all weapon skills are as good as others. Any self-respecting Tarni will want to make sure they are only using the best skills in the game for their character. Keep in mind that some weapons have default skills that cannot be overwritten (similar to Dark souls).

It is almost impossible to determine which skills are best because each player will have their own style and taste. From using magic to attacking with swords and dual-wielding spears, there's something for everyone in Elden Ring. This list has been updated to include more powerful skills in the game that can help break a deadlock, deal massive damage to bosses, and teleport around an opponent like an anime superhero.

dix Frost Trample
- Location: Liurnia of the Lakes, southeast of Caria Manor and Temple District
- Got: It is dropped by an invisible teardrop scarab and a default skill attached to the Frost Ax found in a chest in the Temple District.
The Hoarfrost Stomp is Ashes of war which can be attached to all melee weapons in Ring of Elden. It uses 10 FP to attack groups of enemies with a frost attack that rises from the ground. When thrown in rapid succession against enemies, it can cause frostbite.
It’s a excellent crowd control ability and the perfect way to stop a group of enemies in their tracks. Even without inflicting Frostbite, this leaves opponents vulnerable to attacks and allows the player to create space to heal or attack.
9 sword dance
- Location: Liurnia from the southwest near the Erdtree miner.
- Got: It is dropped by Teardrop Scarab.
Sword Dance is a powerful melee attack that can be attached to all melee weapons and shields. He grants the Vivid affinity but can and should be upgraded to a quality greatsword, halberd, spear, or greataxe. He has a weakness FP cost of 6+6 thanks to its additional follow-up attack.
It's a good way to knock back surrounding enemies, but it's even better when used against bosses like Radahn. It's fast and devastating, so it won't leave the player character vulnerable for too long. It is especially good when attached to long weapons like the halberd or a large sword like the Claymore.
8 No Bloodhound
- Location: The bridge near Lenne's Rise in Dragonbarrow.
- Got: It is obtained by defeating the Knights' cavalry on the bridge near Lenne's Rise. Rest at Grace and pass the time until nightfall.
Bloodhound's Step is one of the most powerful regular skills in Ring of Elden. It can be attached to any weaponry and if used correctly can make the player character almost untouchable in combat. This also includes PVP and PVE fights, and it's amazing against big and powerful bosses.

With the right moment, it can teleport the player character out of danger and place them behind an enemy for a quick stab. He has a weakness FP cost of 5 but can be used after FP is drained using stamina instead. This is useful for crossing lava lakes. The player will still take damage but will not be slowed by the environment.
7 Charge forward
- Location: Lake Liurnia
- Got: Found on a teardrop beetle under the bridge west of Academy Town. It can only be shot using the sights of a bow.
It’s a Regular skill which can be used with Winged Spears, Spears, and Golem Halberd. It costs 13 PF, and when used, the the player will charge forward with their weapon at their hip before inserting the weapon at the end of the charge. It allows players to deal melee damage at a level that rivals even the best bows in the game.
The Charge Forth skill is great for closing the distance when a player is trying to isolate and deal with a particular enemy in a group.. If you use a heavy weapon, a greater distance will be covered with the Charge Forward skill, making it useful to players whether using light or heavy weapons. This skill is the default skill on the Golem Spear and Halberd.
6 office of the prelate
- Location: At the Fire Monk campsite in the Forbidden Lands, south of Grace located on Whiteridge Road.
- Got: This is the default skill in Prelate's Hell. This is a colossal hammer dropped by the Fire Prelates Fort Laiedd.
The office of the prelate is Ordinary skill that can be used with Colossal Weapons. When using this skill, the player will slam their weaponry onto the ground, creating a wave of flames, then charge. As Ring of Elden Beginner tip, players can hold the charge for as long as they need.
This skill works as a great distance closer and even has an AoE aspect since the flames can affect trash mobs of a decent radius. He has a FP cost of 20 and is chargeable. Prelate's Charge is the default skill of the The Hell of Prelate Crozier, but can also be found by a dung beetle near the Fire Monk campsite in Forbidden Lands.
5 Carian Greatsword
- Location: The Church of Vows at Liurnia of the Lakes
- Got: Purchased from the Pastor of Wishes for 10 runes
It’s a Ordinary skill that can be used with Swords et Colossal Weapons. With a FP cost of 16 with the ability to charge the skill, players will notice upon activation that their sword becomes a magical greatsword. It can be swung down on enemies deal damage better than Ring of Eldenthe most powerful incantations.
The Carian Greatsword skill is ideal for players who want to take advantage of STR benefits during close quarters fights with trash mobs. The skill can be obtained by purchasing it from the Wizard Rogier at the Round Table in Castle Stormveil.
4 rotating weapon
- Location: The round table take
- Got: Can be purchased from Rogier sitting near the balcony for 1000 Runes.
The Spinning Weapon skill is an excellent defensive melee attack that will allow the player lift their weaponry into the air and spin it. Enemies that are hit by the weaponry while it is spinning will take much greater damage, making it a useful skill to use when fighting a group of monsters.

The cost of skills 20FP and can be used with small and medium Swords, Axes, hammers, Polearmset Sticks, which makes it very accessible to most players. Spinning Weapon can be obtained by purchasing from Wizard Rogier at the Round Table in Stormveil Castle, a very difficult but important area in this open-world RPG.
3 Storm Blade
- Location: The Warmaster's Hut at Stormhill
- Got: Purchased from Knight Bernhall for 1800 Runes
UN Ordinary skill, Storm Blade only costs 10 FP. When used, the armament will be surrounded by winds which the player can then shoot forward at enemies. It can be fired in rapid succession and can do some pretty nifty damage, and is just one of the reasons why players love Ring of Elden.
Storm Blade is used with Swords. Players who used Excalibur on Warframe will find that Ring of Elden similar skill and will enjoy using it when trying to chip away at enemies' health without getting close enough to risk taking damage. Players should note that this is not a paid skill.
2 Brightblade Phalanx
- Location: Stormveil Castle then the Round Table
- Got: It can be obtained by first defeating Godrick the Graftee, then returning to the Round Table and talking to Rogier. This is Roger's Rapier's default skill. It can be exchanged or duplicated once obtained.
Brilllame Phalanx can be used on Swords, and Polearms which can be pushed. He has a PF cost of 10 – 4 and is not chargeable. When using the skill, Blades of shimmering stone appear above the player's head and will attack enemies if they get close enough.
Glintblade Phalanx is a very useful skill, as Glintstone's blade projectiles deal solid damage to monsters as well as bosses. When engaged in up-close and personal melee combat, it acts as a support to improve a player's DPS abilities and increase their chances of winning the fight.
1 Seppuku
- Location: The frozen lakes at the top of the Giant Mountains
- Got: He is dropped by an Invisible Beetle
Players who like to use staves and magic damage will unfortunately not benefit from the Seppuku skill, as it is a Ordinary skill that can be used on Swords and Polearms capable of thrusting. The skill will force the player to plunge their weaponry into their stomach. The Self Abnegation move will increase the player's overall attack power and use blood loss damage against enemies.
The damage caused by blood loss is considered under control by much of the community. Considering he only has one Cost of 4 PF and can be used to mitigate player damage as well as add blood loss, every player should look to add this to their arsenal.
Ring of Elden is now available on PC, XBOX Series X/S, XBOX One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
